is anyone aware of how to shutdown the windows 2000
workstation and receive the banner/response button as in
NT which says it's now ok to shutdown your workstation? We
have a power on issue which could be resolved if we could
get to this point with windows 2000 workstation. Thanks
in advance..

Yes, Novell has a utility on their site that is free. It
is 'ncshtdwn.exe' there are command line switches to
shutdown, logoff, reboot, etc.... It can be run remotely
by creating a task and copying it into another pc's task
folder. Obviously, you can schedule it to go to the 'ok to
shutdown' screen as well.

Great tool.
