Windows 2000 - shut down problem

Invariably my PC locks out/freezes during shut down and I
have to manually reboot and then shut down. I am a
relative amateur at computing. Can any one help please?

This is not necessarily an appropriate NG for your issue. This NG is for
WIN2000 Active Directory issues. I am assuming that you are talking about a
WIN2000 Professional PC and not a Domain Controller. Please correct me f I
am incorrect. I might try the WIN2000.General NewsGroup with this question.

However, I might try swapping out the RAM and making sure that the BIOS is
current.
