I'd really like to schedule Disk Defragmenter but don't know how. I've
searched with Google and it appears you can't schedule Disk Defragmenter on
Windows 2000.

Is this true?

And if so, how annoyed am I?

I don't know how annoyed you are - you're obviously the
best judge for your mental state.

As far as scheduled defragging is concerned, try this link:

http://www.morphasys.com/autodefrag/

When scheduling a defrag, consider this:

- Other than on work horse file servers, there is very little
difference in performance between a clean and a defragged
disk. Unless you have an extremely fragmented disk, you
won't notice the difference.

- There is always a possibility that a defrag might fail, in
particular if you suffer a crash in the middle of a defrag.
The more frequently you defrag, to greater the risk.

Now I suspect you have moved from an annoyed into a
contemplative state of mind.

Thank you for your prompt and helpful response!

Yes, I am now slightly less annnoyed. ;)

Cheers,

Tris
