Windows 2000 server hangs when "preparing network connections".

Hello. MY Windows 2000 server crashed and I ended up
doing a fresh install and restored the old O.S. from a
tepe backup. Now when I try to boot the system hangs when
it is "preparing network connections. The system will
however start in safe mode without network. The O.S.
install included SP 2. Do you think installing SP4 will
remedy the problem.

Thanks,
Bob

Is the server's DNS setting in TCPIP configured to point to a DNS server
with the Domain records or is it pointing to an ISP DNS server?

Thanks,
