Adware is plaguing me so I purchased and downloaded Spysweeper from Webroot.
The icon is displayed on my desktop but when I try to open it I receive the
prompt that I must be logged in as an administrator to do this.I have Windows
2000 Professional. I purchased this computer used. How can I log on as an
administrator?

Log out, type "Administrator" as the login name, and use the
administrative password that the computer's seller would have given you.
You can also try leaving the password blank. If the seller did _not_
have the administrative password to pass along to you with the computer,
you might want to ask your local police to check and ensure that the
setter did have a legitimate right to sell the computer.

I hope you got the install medium. You can just reinstall if you want and you become the Administrator.
Without that password you are stuck. No way that I know of to get it outside of asking the person who set
it if that was done.
