I have a laptop that i wish to format and put windows 2000 on it. One
problem is i don't have a cd-rom for the laptop only a floppy drive. I have
loan an external cd-rom that connects via lpt1 and i have the .sys driver,
now the driver is for its caddy a aspi one, the aspi driver loads ok but i
cant get any driver to work with the cd rom i have in the caddy. ive tried
a few different cd-roms now, has anyone a basic boot disk i can modify, ive
wrote one myself to get this far but cant get the cd rom to detect after
aspi driver loads.
I've connected this to my main pc and it detects the cd rom ok so i know it
works, its just a matter of getting it working in dos mode so i can kick a
2000 install off.
I've also tried using the 4 win 2000 boot floppy's but it wont find the cd
that way, unless there is a way to add it some how ?
Thanks
