Windows 2000 FTP client

Kedar Godbole

I am facing a problem with my FTP client on Windows 2000.
I am trying to connect to the FTP server (which is also
a windows 2000 machine) using the default FTP client from
command prompt.
I get logged in successfully. But when I try to use the
standard FTP commands like "ls" my Client just hangs, And
doesnt show me the list of directories / files present in
the root directory.
Can anybody help me solving this problem.

Are you behind a firewall, or are the clients on the same lan? If you are
behind a firewall then some ports are being blocked. The FTP Client will do
active connections, just in case it is.

If they are on the same LAN, i.e. the same segment, then we might have an
issue with the FTP Service. But I have a feeling you are crossing something
that is blocking you. Hope that helps. :)
