HELP! my pc was hit by TROJAN HORSE virus. I used norton anti-virus to do a
full scan but there was a particular file named "ae1af.dll" couldnt be
deleted.

Now everytime i switch on my pc before i can log into windows, ti will promt
me for windows 2000 cd saying windows could not continue to run properly
because of unknow files being taken over or such.

But my internet explorer works fine and i also realised that my norton
anti-virus is not working too.

So how and what must i do to counter the problem whenever i log onto my pc?
i have win2k cd but nothing seems to work.

HELP....

i got hit by something similar this weekend, and it also KNOCKED OUT my NAV.
i mean killed it! i did the following:

i ran ad-aware se
and being fed up with what i view as symantec's terrible support, i went,
and downloaded PC-CILLIN, ran a fullscan
then ran spy-bot
and then on the next reboot it took my win 2000cd and everything was fine.

on a side note, gonna write a letter and send it to SYMANTEC, it's going to
be addressed to the "CEO of the worst company i have ever had to deal with"

Cross-post when necessary, but never multi-post. Cross-posting is when you
include two or more groups in the "Newsgroups:" section. In this scenario
the message and all responses are seen in all groups that the message was
cross-posted to. In other words any replies will automatically propagate to
the other newsgroup posts.

Multi-posting is when you post the same message to two or more groups
individually. In this scenario the message is seen in the groups it is
posted to, but the responses are only seen attached to the message (unless
you cross-post the reply) in which the response was made. So those that
frequent these groups then need to deal with or re-read the posts. It may
seem like a small thing to keep track of. But some of us actively traverse
50 or more groups. The poster also then must search out all of the posts to
see if there was a response.
