windows 2000 error message when loading hardware etc

I get this message when trying to install a printer or key
board etc or having profile read online by Dell or Msoft

winnt/system32\config.nt this system is not suitable for
running MS-DOS and microsoft windows applications

Can anyone help??

That file along with AUTOEXEC.NT is used for the 16-bit DOS subsystem.
(NTVDM). My first suggestion would be to check the file. For
reference, the original version is stored compressed in the intallation
source's \i386\ directory as CONFIG.NT_

Try Start, Run..., command.com
and say what happens.

Any other error text or Event Log messages?
