Windows 2000 do not support PPPoE by default?

Does Windows 2000 support PPPoE connections without any
3rd party software? Does the RAS apis support a way to
differentiate which connection is for normal modem dial
up and which connection is for PPPoE?
 
PPPoE builtin support was new in 2003. It was not there in w2K.
