Windows 2000 Disk Cleanup

I recently had a professional Computer person do a clean
install. Since that time I am unable to use the disk
cleanup utility. I was told to defrag the drive and go in
and end process of the spoolsv. exe. I did this and it
still does not work. I have called the professional and he
is at a loss why this utility will not work. I t gets hung
up after about 3 or 4 bars come up on the meter system.
Saying it looking to see how much room will be saved.
Could someone out there help us out. Thank you, Jim

I had this problem last night on a P.C. and was getting
very frustrated. Finally I let it just sit for about 2
hours and when I returned it was finished. Don't know if
this will help but giv it a try.

I seem to have this problem recurring. I was working with
MS techs on a different problem, but they advised this
solution (it works). 1) Start, click "Run" type
in: "regedit", click OK.
2) Find: HKEY_LOCAL
MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current
Version\Explorer\Volume Cache
3) On the right hand screen: highlight the entry and click
delete.
4) Close out of the Registry and run defrag.
All the Best!
