I am working on a pc that is having trouble booting up.
When I start the computer, it goes all the way up to the
Windows 2k splash screen, then the systems just shuts
itself off, and the booting process attempts to restart
again, repeatedly restarting itself. I hit the F8 buton
to get into setup, and start the system in safe mode, but
again while booting, it restarts itself. I figured I
would try to use the Recovery Console method, however, I
cannot locate the Operating system disc to install
Recovery Console, or to even attempt to boot from the
disc. If this sounds like it may be a solution, could
someone send me a copy of the Recovery Console files.
Or, if I'm way in left field, please....HELP!!! This is
a computer that is utilized at a place of business, and I
thought I could get it up and running for them in no
time, but I'm stumped at this point. Thanks a bunch.

Without the install CD-Rom any repair is unlikely.

Hi spaynetek,

Let's try booting to Safe Mode and unchecking
"automatically reboot"

Power up and tap the F8 key while the computer
starts "posting" and a menu will show up where you
have a choice of Safe Mode. Choose it with up and
down arrow keys and then <enter>. The computer will
start in a lower resolution of 640x480 (all looks
larger). Do this
click Start
Settings
Control Panel
System
Advanced tab
Startup and Recovery button
about the center, uncheck "automatically reboot"
OK all the way out and then Restart

You will probably get a blue screen of death (BSOD)
Write down all of it and post in here and someone
can help with it.
