I have three servers running windows 2000 server. Only
one of the three's backup works. The other two won't
backup. The message is "The operation was not performed
because the specified media cannot be found". I ping the
backupserver from these two computers, there is no
problem. From these two computers I am able to access the
backup media. I can not figure out what is causing the
problem. Help. You can email me at:

Try telling us:
Does each server have its own tape drive?
Is the media disk?
Is this a domain or workgroup?
can you ping by name?
can you net use \\computername\sharename?

Tell use what you are trying to accomplish and how/

All three server back up the data to another stand alone
server with a 120GB hard drive. On the HD has folders for
each server to backup to. one of the server which is DC
has been successfully backing up. The other two are not.
I can ping the backup server from the other no problem. I
can also browse the HD on the backup server from the same
two server without any problem. I hope this helps.
