Window XP Pro Shut down problem

If I use IBM Notebook T30 around 30 min, No problem to
shut down but If I use more than 1 or 2 hour (I feel), I
could not shut down my laptop. I could not see log off
and shut down message after I push shut down button from
start menu and display just frozen and even ctrl+alt+del
key does not work.

I checked virus and not found anything.

Would you someone help me ?

Maybe it overheats? Point a fan at it ...
