window xp networking for domain

i want to shift a workgroup to a domain with window nt domain controller with xp as a workstation. but i am not able to transfer the old accounts to new accounts
hoe can i ?
 
Not sure what you mean. Once you are a member of the domain, you accounts
are different and must be created on the domain controller.

i mean all the user desktop setting and all documents get lost and the get a new desktop settings which i am not able to retain
