Window title bar only showing first character

M

Mike Brearley

I know this should be an easy fix, but I can't locate it. Every IE or
Explorer window has a single character in the title bar. So if I were in
Internet Explorer and went to www.msn.com, instead of showing 'MSN.com -
Microsoft Internet Explorer' it shows, 'M' The same goes for any directory
I'm browsing with Windows Explorer.

I've scanned for spyware and virusus and I'm clean right now.

were a direct result of my fingers and brain not being synchronized or my

Mike,

This is usually caused by Google Toolbar / Google Desktop search.

See FAQ #92 here: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/iefaq.htm#GDS
"Internet Explorer Title bar information is "corrupt" or the text is
truncated ?"
