Window Speech Recognition problem

Recently i installed the Microsoft Speech recogtion for
Word 2002 XP, when the language bar was up i clicked on
it and pressed Show/hide, so i went to control panel to
the Reigonal and Language Option > Languages > Details
and under Preferences the Laugauge bar is greyed out even
though the speech recogtion is installed. I unistalled
the feature and reinstalled it again, and the same thing,
it's still greyed out. I fully restored Office xp
defaults and the same thing it is still greyed out. I
really need help, even if i go into word and click on
speech in one of the menus, nothing happens at all.
PLEASE HELP ME!!
