window sizing & shortcut problems

Marco

I am running IE 6.0 on Windows XP Pro. all of a sudden I
can't resize my windows, all I can get is totally
minimized or totally maximized. When I click the '2
overlaping squares' (the restore button) it just
minimizes it. Please help
As well, I have several shortcuts on my desktop which
open some internet sites i frequent. Right now the
shortcuts will redirect any open IE windows to their
address when I 2x click the shortcuts. Is there a way I
can set this so 2x clicking on the shortcut will open a
brand new IE window, even if I have open IE windows
allready?
Thanks for your help

Since you're using XP, have you tried system restore? Start button,
programs, accessories, tools, system tools. Choose a recent date
before the problem began.

As for the icon problem, that's controlled via the IE tools menu,
internet options, advanced tab "reuse windows for launching
shortcuts".

Marco,
Re: window size...
1. Right click the button for that minimized window and experiment with the
"size' and "move" options using the arrow keys.
or
2. With no other windows open except one of those minimized windows,
right-click on the taskbar and choose tile Horizontally (Vertically) should
work as well.
or

Re: Shortcuts...
"Reuse/don't reuse windows" doesn't always work for me with shortcuts on the
desktop. Try this

Right click the shortcut> Properties> Target. Add the path to IExplore.exe
to the target, so that it becomes (for example)
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" http://www.yahoo.com
Note the space between EXE" and http.

If this doesn't work:
Find IEXPLORE.EXE on your machine.
Create a shortcut to iexplore.exe on the desktop.
Add the URL to Properties> Target so that you end up with
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" http://www.yahoo.com
Note the space between EXE" and http.
Rename the shortcut

Hope this helps,
Don
