I cannot get the "My Computer" folder to remain in the
size I make it. I tried the CTL and then X out and every
time I open this folder it comes maximized. It seems all
the others will retain their settings. Is there any way
to make the default of a folder to be minimized? When I
open any new folder for the first time it is maximized. I
tried to go to folder settings and select to make all
folders like this one but new folders remain full and the
My computer will not hold settings. Any suggestions? Thank

Hi,this is a two part fix, first download this registry

edit from kelly. Line 2 lefthand side
www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
window by default can only retain about 400 folder
settings this edit changes that to 8000 different
settings.
Second,the first time you close a file after you changed
its custom setting do not use the X in the upper rt. hand
corner, instead rt.click on (file) in the upper lt.corner
and select close.
