Window scrolling and roling

I've been experiencing screen roll and jumping while
using windows XP home edition. It started 2 weeks ago and
it is getting worse. Any suggestions for a fix?
This occurs whenever I am online or just working offline.
 
Sounds like your display device itself is going bad; if
that's what you mean by 'screen roll' and 'jumping'.
 
Yes. The screen rolling and jumping is the display. This
occurs whenever I am working offline or on the internet.
How can I correct this?
