Window Mail losing saved message content

In some folders whatever message I click on the same message opens
regardless. If I try to move a message back to the Inbox then all messages
in the folder show as "cannot find content" I have not deleted these
messages but saved them in folders. Where did they go? How do I get them
back? This has happened since my last backup so I cannot get them from the
external backup file. Plus, this sho7uld not happen. I checked another
folder, first it worked, then later it went bad as well. How do I get my
emails restored, and how do I prevent this crap from happening again?

Try running the various repair functions in the WMUtil program:

You prevent it by upgrading to the more developed replacement program,
Windows Live Mail: http://download.live.com/wlmail

See point 3 here (www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3) as some 3rd party program is
probably causing this issue. Then run WMUtil on the database to repair it
(www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/)

I have the same problem too and it happens to first my pc and then my laptop
afetr installing the windows updates for November.

First it started on the PC and second on the laptop.

Come on Microsoft, this needs escalation as there are countless reports of
it on mail forums and the WMUtil tools (3rd party) does not even touch the
problem.

sfc /scannow finds file corruptions in the windows mail folder but cannot
fix them

Have you heard of the Lemon Law as it pertains to new cars? One
of the acceptable remedies is to offer the owner a free replacement.
Microsoft has done the same with Windows Mail. The free
replacement is Windows Live Mail:

Windows Mail will become increasingly less tenable as new
Windows updates are released, or as one upgrades to Windows 7.
