Hello-

Although I can send and receive mail okay, I still get the following error
code whenever I hit the "send/receive" button or when I send mail. how do I
get rid of it?

The host 'POP3' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the
server name correctly.
Account: 'POP3', Server: 'POP3', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL):
No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

Go into your accounts and delete ('remove') the invalid account named "POP3".

You get rid of it by specifying a correct server name.

POP3 is the wrong name.

Ask your ISP to earn their money.

Thank you Gary, that was easy, i was just afraid to remove anything before
checking with someone as knowledgeable as yourself.

Hi Byron,

Go to your email provider's website and look up what their POP3 server
name is. Then go into Windows Mail and change the "POP3" name to the
correct one. That is why it cannot find it. The website should have
instructions for how to do it in Windows Mail or OE. They have the same
account setup instructions.

That the OP can send and receive suggests, as Gary spotted,
this POP3 account is a duplicate email account that simply
needs deleting.

Thank you Shawn, I took Gary's advice and it seems to have cleared up the
problem by removing the "pop3" You Guy's are great. To Julian: I did, they
didnt, thats why I am here.

Typical crooks.

If they're not pushing incompatible software,
like crack dealers at the school gates,
they're putting innocent bystanders in the frame.
