Hi, I have 2 computers in a Workgroup. The Windows XP Pro machine is
connected to the internet directly with ICS enabled. It can see and access
shares on the 98SE machine.

The Windows 98SE machine can access internet and can see the XP machine in
network neighborhood but cannot connect to it. I get a popup asking for
password -----> \\server\ipc$.

Any suggestions or comments that can assist me on this matter will be highly
appreciated.

Thanks

Brian,

Are you logging onto the Windows 98 computer with an account and password? If
so, setup that account / password on the Windows XP computer, and activate it
for network access.

If you don't want to activate an account, or if you're running Simple File
Sharing on the XP computer, activate Guest on the XP computer.
