win98 to xp trouble with a certain error message

Hey,

I recently got windows xp pro and im trying to do a upgrade from windows 98.
It says its anaylizing the computer and everything is fine. It restarts and
then it says Setup cannot continue "Line 3113 of INF File\ txtsetup.sif is
invalid. Then it just goes back to the regular windows 98. Any help would be
greatly appreciated!

That type of error is usually caused by a dirty or damaged
installation CD.

Clean the data surface of the CD carefully by washing it with warm
water and drying it with a soft lint-free cloth. Make sure to avoid
getting any fingerprints on the CD surface - handle it only by the
edges or the center hole.

If cleaning does not resolve the issue then examine the surface of the
CD for scratches or marks that could interfere with the reading of
data. If your XP is a retail product then you can contact Microsoft
regarding a replacement CD.
