Win98 JPG files won't display

Ok, that is my 'other' computer now but this has happened before. I
have programs on there that won't upgrade & it would be nice to view
some of the .jpg's. So what is the name of the file you (I)
associate with jpg? Anybody?

They are usually handled by Internet Explorer. However, you
would be far better off downloading "Irfanview". This is a
terrific freeware program that will handle most graphic formats.
Its installation will fix the association issue.

Windows Picture and Fax Viewer usually is the default for .JPG files in XP.
Paint opens them also. Both already installed. To set the default, right
click a JPG file, select Open with...>Choose program... In dialog box this
gets, mine has Viewer as default (already highlighted); if not so on your
system, click to highlight, then mark, " Always use the selected program to
open this kind of file". OK to close.

MS Word and Power Point also display them using copy/paste; these do require
purchase and installation if not already.
