Win2kPro DSL network dead. Help appreciated

To make it short:

My DSL connect was working fine, uninstalled a game via
windows add/remove programs, restarted pc, thats when my
pc lost internet connect.

Have 3 pc's hooked to DSL via hub and they work fine.
Problem is in my PC.

I have:
Uninstalled and reinstalled network adapter, tcp/ip ,
have run last known good config via safe mode startup, in
desperation even installed sec. patch 4 for win2k..

ISP support says my system cant get an IP address/cannot
talk even to the dsl modem. They suggested I do a system
file check or some kind of manual registry fix they do
not support but that is found in MS website (they kindly
forgot to tell me where to find it in MS website though).

To make things worse, I cant find my win2kpro cd. :(

If any of you have any ideas or suggestions on how to fix
this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Tac,
More info is needed. Did you purchase mutliple IP addresses from your
provider? or are you using a hub/router which supports DHCP (auto IP
asigning).

Go to the run command and type cmd to run a dos prompt. type in ipconfig and
press enter to get your current IP setting. If you don't get an IP setting
then this is your problem. Check the cabling to make sure all the
connections are plugged in all the way and the wire connection in the NIC is
not dammaged. check to make sure a family pet has not chewed on the wiring.
Check and compare the IP setting from a working computer and make it
identical except if your typing in a staic IP change the last number to
something different so you don't have a conflict.

If you got an IP address in ipconfig type ping yahoo.com and see if you get
a reply.

Did you have the ms03-026 installed and have you installed the ms03-039 yet?
Check if they were installed properly.
