i am a newbit at win2ke server installs.

when i set up a win2ke server, can i use the classic domain model without
using AD?

Windows 2000 server can only be domain controllers if they are running
active directory. They cannot be domain controllers in an NT4 domain.

You have replies to this post in another group. In the future, please don't
multipost - if you need to post to multiple groups, it's best to crosspost
instead, by posting a single message to a handful of relevant groups
(separate the NG names with commas) so that everyone can follow the thread.
This makes it easier for everyone, including you. :)

The answer is: in W2k/2003, a domain *is* Active Directory, and vice versa,
generally speaking.
