Win2k SP4 Setup Error (msimn.exe)

"Service Pack 4 Setup Error
The file c:\program files\outlook express\msimn.exe is
open or in use by another application.
Close all other applications and then click Retry.
[Retry] [Cancel]"

Getting the above error on 3 different PCs (2 with same
image, other with different image). All are currently
running SP3. Task Manager shows that msimn.exe (Outlook
Express executable) is not running. We don't even use
Express, we use full Outlook. Have scanned for viruses,
no results. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I'm sure by now you have found the solution to this. I found this thread by google search because I was having the same issue. I have a solution and thought I would post it to here since this is the first page that came up in the search but no solution existed.

When the error appears, open the directory it specifies. You should be able to delete the "MSIMN.EXE" file, then just click retry in the error dialog and setup will continue.
