I have a Win2k server running sp4 with the latest hotfixes and I.E.SP6 SP1
also with a number of fixes,
We have a problem in that the scheduler service no longer shows up in
control panel
when we try to add a job we get the service has not been started.
If you try to start it you get the error the service name is invalid

I have spotted aKB article that refers to NT4 but nothing for Win2k

Has anyone experienced this issue before.
TIA

You might try;
sc query "Schedule"

to see what win32 exit code is generated. You can get sc.exe (service
controller tool) here.
