Has anyone run into this situation. I am running Windows 2000 sp4 as a
member server and running SQL server 2000 sp3a. I wanted to add Veritas 9.1
backupexec. Installed the program and everything appeared to be normal. A
backup job experienced "an I/O error" and I tried to go into the event log
to see what was reported and by whom, just to find all event logs were
completely empty. The event log service is running, but nothing is being
collected in the log files.
I have no idea where to turn to resolve this one. I have tried rebooting,
and reinstalling sp4. Nothing seems to work. Any ideas before I go off and
spend $245 for the MS call? I am also running Symantec Antivirus Corporate
edition and all files are up to date and a scan did not find any viruses on
the system.
Thanks in advance,
