win2k server, dsl, vpn's, and ics Question

Hello,

Anyone know if it is possible to set up vpns on a win2k server that is
hosting ics from a dsl connection. And if its not can it be done with a
router? I have read that if you enable a vpn on a server that is hosting ics
services, that the vpn service will shut down the ics. And will it work if
you configure the server manually with NAT ?

Thanks,

Aaron

It's not recommended to use ICS on a server. Better get a 2nd nic and attach
your dsl-connection to it.
Then you would have to setup RRAS for VPN. Make sure you do the regedits in
292822.

If you are running the server version of the product, you should not be using ICS. You should be using RRAS NAT instead. Is
you use RRAS NAT and VPN, there will not be any problems.

Thank you,
