Win2K clients slow accessing new Win2K Server

I am connecting Win98SE, Win2KPro, and WinXPPro clients to
a new Win2K Server on a new domain. The Win98SE clients
are operating very nicely--speed is excellent for running
apps and browsing the network. However, the Win2KPro
clients are extremely slow. Does anyone have ideas about
why this might be?

make sure the w2k clients are using the correct DNS server.
i.e the w2k server.
