Win2k boot menu

Hi,

My hard drive is currently split into three partitions as follows:

C: - Windows ME
D: - Windows 2000
E: - My documents etc

What I want to do is reinstall Windows ME. In the past, whenever I have done
this, the boot menu disappears and I can no longer boot Windows 2000. How do
I backup or repair the boot menu after I've reformatted and reinstalled
Windows ME?

I posted a similar e-mail on another newsgroup, and someone gave me a web
site to go to and it kept on referring to a file called boot.ini which I
have nowhere on my computer. So how do I preserve my boot menu so I can
still dual boot after I reinstall WinME on C:?

Thanks in advance.

Lance

There's another way, just change your Startup Options so
you can choose the OS you want to load

Go to System Properties-->tab to Advanced Options->Startup
and Recovery-->Check "Display list of Operating Systems."

The boot menu is only a small fraction of your problem.
After you've re-installed WinME, you will no longer be
able to boot into Win2000, regardless of the contents
of boot.ini. You must first restore the Win2000 boot sector
on drive C:, then you must include a line for WinME in
the hidden file c:\boot.ini. Post again if unsure how to do this.
