Win2K and Win XP

I have a cable modem on my W2K Desktop and I share the
internet connection with my WXP Laptop. However I cant
seem to be able to share printers or files. It seems that
the computers cannot communicate with each other. The WXP
CAN ping the W2K but not the other way around. Help!
