Win2K and DUN

Hello all
A friend recently upgraded his pc from Windows ME to Windows 2000
Professional. On first upgrading, Internet access through a dial up
modem was fine, but after the first night, although he can connect to
the Internet OK, both his email client (Pegasus Mail) and browser
return a mesage stating that the server cannot be found. He uses
ZoneAlarm and AVG antivirus.
Can anyone give me an idea of how to fix this, before I suggest a
clean reinstall ?

There is no upgrade path from WinME to Win2000 - WinME
was released after Win2000! I recommend a clean installation.
