I want to download from disc an .exe to my win2000 but
error says to goto website to find directions that does
not require web connection for installation Where are
these instructions so I can down load SP4 so I can down
load blaster fix so I can get on with my life instead of
fixing bills screwup

Here it is, in 6 easy-to-understand steps:

1. Go to the Microsoft site (www.microsoft.com)
2. Click "Downloads"
3. Select "Windows 2000" as a Product Family
4. Type "Service Pack" in the search box.
5. Select "Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 Network Install for IT Professionals"
6. Get on with your life.

You can install the blaster patch (KB823980) without installing SP4. I
did that just as a precaution because I'm not ready to install SP4 yet.
(I have it on CD, but I'm following my usual practice of letting it "age"
for a few weeks before installing.)
