win2000 RRAS/VPN server and VPN client problem

hi,

I have configured windows 2000 server ( stand alone server
no AD ) as a RRAS/VPN server. VPN server uses PPTP.
This is the net setup

WAN(DSL)<---win2000server (vpn server- PPTP)

WAN(dialup)<--- win2000 pro (vpn client)

when I try to connect from a windows 2000 professional
machine to the VPN server,
I get this message
"your credentals have failed remote network authentication
enter a username and password with access to the remote
network domain"
and boxes to put username and password and logon domain.
there is no domain as i do not have AD and no domain I am
wondering why is it asking me for a domain name
(everything is stand alone).
When I put the username and password and click OK I get
another error
:error 691- access was denied because the username and/or
password was invalid on the domain.

username and password have been checked they all correct.

I would appreciate all the help.

Specify the domain name as the Server name.

I setup pretty much the same, it used to work but now I am
having authentication issues.

i specified the domain name as server name, that did not
do it either.
I have no idea why is it doing this.
