Win2000 & Autodesk product

I use mechanical desktop. When I generate a drawing I
would like to be able to have the option of adding a read-
write protection on that particular document. I cannot do
this in the application. According to Autodesk, the
problem is in the OS. Anyone familiar with this? Thank you.
 
I don't know what Autodesk has in terms of doing this from within their
application, but can't you do this in Windows Explorer? Right-click on the
file, go to properties, select read only?
