CAD Software on Vista

All:

I posted a message on the Autodesk Map General newsgroup the other day and
received this reply:

At this time, it is not advisable to install any Autodesk software on Vista
until Autodesk makes a statement about its software on Vista. And it looks
they have not yet.

Remember that up to now, the official Autodesk policy is to not support any
"non current" version of their software on a new Windows OS.

There is a problem that is known, and that plagues all CAD products: Vista
does not "direcly" support OpenGL anymore, only through emulation. A
benchmark has shown that CAD software is somewhere between 6 times to 50
times slower - yes up to 50 times - running on Vista.

Using Autodesk products on Vista at this time is at your own risks, until
more information is available. In fact, everyone should wait some time
before going to Vista. Let the others experience problems to come...

I've confirmed with our Autodesk reseller that software that uses OpenGL
will have problems running on Vista.

Has anyone else had problems with other CAD/Graphics programs running under
Vista?

Thanks,
Greg

I use ArchiCAD 10 everyday on Vista without any problems. It uses OpenGL
for the 3D windows.
