Win-Zip Self-Extractor Header Corrupt

I am trying to open new software that has just been downloaded and I keep
getting this message "Win-Zip Self-Extractor Header Corrupt"
Please respond in Simple layman's terms & instructions.
Not too technical please.

Try renaming it to zip and use explorer to open and extract the files. Else get pkzipfix from Pkzip for Dos 2.50 at www.pkware.com

Try the download again. Sometimes, files get corrupted on download. Or,
try to get the file from another location, as sometimes files get bad on
certain download sites.
