Cabinet Self-Extractor

I am trying to install the Windows Fax client. When I attempt to
install it from my original XP Pro CD, I get the message, "Insert the
Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2 CD." I don't have the SP-2 CD, just the
original XP Pro. I can see the files on the CD that are needed, but
they are compressed. I can't find the Win32 Cabinet Self-Extractor
anywhere, or even how to install it. What's the secret?

You need to make a "slipstreamed" installation disk.

Thanks. I figured it out. I didn't realize that the installation put
all the needed files in C:\i386. I just pointed the fax install to
that directory and voila! Worked like a charm.

After you mentioned the slipstreaming, I also remembered that I
actually did that when I did the initial install. Guess I could have
used that one, but forgot I even had it.
