I have applied WIN XP SP1a about three times. When I connect to my ISP (MSN) via my integrated Lucent v.57 modem, I notice that the modem connection speed comes up as 115.2kbps. the connection only stays active for about a minute and then I get notification that the connection has dropped. When I remove WIN XP SP1a and reconnect top my ISP, the modem speed returns to normal, about 50kbps, and the connection does not drop. Any ideas?????

If your getting 50k thats about normal. The phone lines
are actually only designed for up to 53k just like the
modem box should say on it. Do you have the XP drivers
installed for the modem.

Go to the modem manufacturers website and get the latest Windows XP
driver.
