I have a dual athon mp1900+processor setup with dual WD
40 gig hd's strapped to an adaptec 1200 ata 1200a raid
pci. THe raid array has ben setup as striped, partitioned
into 4 volumes and carried winxp pro, and worked fine for
8 months.
I decide to remaster following some housekeeping, and ran
the win xp pro install disk. When prompted I selected to
format the first ntfs volume (thus wiping out the
previous install)and proceed with installing XP pro, XP
finished copying files across... then rebooted... then
the proverbial hit the fan...
BSOD: 0x0000007b (0xf7c7863c, oxc0000034,

After copying across the setup files, and rebooting winxp
came up with the splashe screen for the previous xp
install and then blue screened as it couldn't load the OS.
I loaded a win 98 start up disk and went into fdisk,
deleted the original first volume then restarted the xp
install, as soon as windows copies the files across and
reboots the same fault occurs.

I loaded partition magic boot up disk and formatted the
partition and tried install again -same error.

I tried a prog called boot-it ng, get same error, all the
time selecting reformat on win xp setup screen, trying
ntfs quick/slow, fat 32 quick/slow, but each time on
reboot after copying files the old windows splas screen
comes up and the install falls over as it looks for the
previous install.

I have used recovery console to fixmbr, fixboot, bootcfg
all give the same error :-(
Last night I took the bull by the horns, crashed the raid
array and created a new one, formatted under winxp setup
as one volume... same fecking error
today I have fdisk'd the whole array, tried setting up as
jbod, fdisk'd jbod all gives excactly the same error...
am I in Groundhog day?? this is giving me serious lack of
sleep as an IT tech dumbfounded by good old ms.... please
