Win XP Recycle Bin

When I installed Norton SystemWorks, the old Windows
Recycle Bin went away. Is there a way to put it back?
SystemWorks installed a Protected Recycle Bin and I
cannot find how to delete files from it - only how to
restore them.

Thanks for any help.

Right click the Recycle Bin and you will see various "Tabs" to make your
choices. Including, turning off the Protected recycle bin and purging the
protected files.

If you right click on your recycle bin, the open command will open your
standard recycle bin, to delete files from norton's protected bin click
empty norton protected files from the right click menu of your recycle bin.
You should do this periodically because all kinds of junk gets cluttered in
there, temp files etc. HTH

Having been a long time user of Norton System Works I
would like to point out that System Works does a very poor
job on XP and will cause you more problems than it solves.
The Doctor and Disk optimizer actually do the oposite of
what they are supposed to do and can cause you no end of
grief. System works is simply not needed in XP. The built
in tools as well as all the free ones out there do a much
better job. Norton Anti-virus is another story. I wouldn't
fire up my system without it. If you want a Norton System
works of Norton Utilities 2002 disk e:mail me. The ones I
have are just being used for coasters. That's really all
they're good for. Have fun.

Hi Ron!
1.) Right Click on Norton Protected Recycle Bin
2.) Left Click Properties
3.) Click on the Recycle Bin Tab.
4.) Select Standard Recycle Bin from Double-clicking item opens.
5.) Change the Title: to Recycle Bin under Appearance
6.) Remove the check from Enable protection under Drive Settings
7.) Click the OK button
