Thanks in advance for your help.

when i try to turn off the system, I get the following
msg "end program WUPDATER.EXE this program is not
responding" What do i need to do to resolve this problem.?

After a quick search, I've found that heaps of people have
the same problem. It's a piece of spyware that probably
came with something like kazaa. Do a search of your
machine for the WUPDATER.EXE file, it's most likely in
c:\program files\updater. Delete this folder, you may have
to boot into safe mode to do this. If you get any errors
after this run regedit and go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersio
n\Run and delete any keys referring to WUPDATER.EXE. I
recommend getting some anti-spyware software like AdAware
to find and remove all spyware from your machine.
