Win XP Pro - WINS flooding network! Help!

I have just installed a fresh XP Pro to a laptop. I have trouble
accessing Internet so I inspect the LAN connection. I noticed shortly
after Win XP Pro launched, it is sending 100+ packets per second!

After I turned off service by service. I found the offending party
being "WINS client". I tried setting the network property by changing
domain name from WORKGROUP. I tried choosing "not a part of business
network". Disabled NetBIOS over TCP/IP. Neither works.

What have I done wrong? This is a fresh installation and I have already
installed twice!

By chance, Ctrl + Alt + Del and see if you see DLLHOST.exe running, as well
do a search for DLLHOST in file find.
If it exists in a directory called "Wins" you have a common
virus/trojan..Easy to fix, just see if that is indeed your problem first.

That was it! Thanks for the tip.

Looks like it is my turn of being a sucker. Yes, mine was infected by the
virus. I guess I got it sometime during Windows Update. Which is the very
first thing I do after installing ethernet driver.
