WIN XP PRO Slow boot up HELP!!

New install of Win xp Pro on an Asus A7A266 mobo (ali
chipset)

Will take ages to cold boot and restart F8 safe mode boot
shows ALIM1541.SYS is the driver thats holding it up.
I have deicovered and downloaded a copy of this file and
unless sum one else here has any bright ideas I plan on
changing this file and replacin it wiv this downloaded
one.
Any ideas anyone ??

I have put xpsp1 and all upadtes on but mobo drivers have
not been loaded

Just before you replace the ALIM1541.SYS file, your system might be infected
with ad-ware or spyware.

Try these programs to check for any spyware that may be on your system:

Try SpyWareBlaster to stop intrusions:

If still doesn't go well, back up all your important documents and data and
go ahead in replacing the ALIM1541.SYS file....
