Win XP Pro shut down problem.

I cannot get my computer to shut down on its own. It logs off and restarts over and over again.
There are no other user profiles but that of the Adminstrator. Guest Account is disabled. I have to shut it off from the CPU
My younger daughter did admit to me that she logged off then shut down once instead of just shuting down the computer.
Can anyone help with any suggestions
