Try to connect to whom?
How are you and how are they connected to the Internet?
Is your firewall properly configured to allow such traffic?
If you have a router, is it properly configured to allow/pass such traffic?

we are both connected to a cable modem and we both have win firewall turned
on. I believe the firewall is configured properly with no exceptions not
checked under the general tab. I do have remote assistant checked under
exceptions tab. We both are on a router and I don't know if the router is
configured properly. We both have the lynksys router.

Thank you

hehe
"the linksys router" is hard to comprehend. They have several models, some
older that are less configurable than the newer.

I am getting this very same error. So far Microsoft hasn't even been able to
resolve it! I have a clean install of Windows XP Home edition. I am connected
via cable with a Belkin router. I am only using Windows Firewall. I shut that
down and connected directly to my modem, bypassing the router. I still get
the same error. My friend has no trouble with a 3rd party accessing her
desktop so I assume there is nothing wrong on her end. I have been trying to
get this to work ever since the middle of February and still cannot get it to
work. If anyone has any ideas how to fix this I sure would appreciate it.
Don't know if Bob got his working or not. Please help if you can.
Thanks so much.
