Hi,

I'm a power user and have tweaked and reformatted Hard drives until
something goes right.

But now with win xp pro, the install goes flawlessly, except at the end
where normally you'd be asked if you wanted to connect to the net, register
with MS, then asked to give at least 1 user name.

Now, nothing, just installs, and i'm the administrator.

How can this be, i tried reformatting and over and over again after each
install, no prompt for username or that other info.

Why all of a sudden no prompts at the end of an install?

Any help appreciated.

Hello
That is normal, go to Windows Update site and download the updates and then
after downloading one of the Windows XP updates (forgot which one) and
restart you will see the logon screen at that point you can go to Control
Panel>User Accounts> and change the name and password.
If you choose not to download the update then you can just go to the control
panel and set up a user account.

Haus,

Thank you, but i'm wondering why all of a sudden this is happening, in
countless other installs, the option of putting one username of a list of
several was always there at the end of a fresh install yet not now.
